Tips for perfect corporate Christmas party photography in Vienna: when to book, what it costs, and how to get the best photos at gala dinners and annual celebrations.
December Is Booked Out. Book Now.
Here's the truth: if you enquire in November, most good photographers in Vienna won't have a single Friday or Saturday left. October is the last safe month. September is better.
As an event photographer in Vienna, I've been shooting corporate Christmas parties for over 12 years — from 20-person teams in cosy restaurants to gala evenings with 300 guests at the Kursalon. And every year, it's the same: the enquiries come too late.
That's why I wrote this. So you know what a Christmas party photographer in Vienna costs, what matters, and what you can do to make sure the photos turn out great.

Everything included: editing of all images, online gallery, usage rights for newsletters, intranet and social media.
Highlight photos the same evening? Yes. On request, I deliver 10–15 finished images during the party itself — for the midnight Instagram post or the internal WhatsApp group.
When Do the Best Photos Happen?

The First 45 Minutes
Honestly? The most valuable photos happen right at the start. People are still fresh, the mood is electric, the laughter is real. Three hours later it's different — tired faces, wrinkled shirts.
Gala Dinner
Candlelight, table decorations, conversations over food. I don't need flash here — with the right equipment, I capture the warm atmosphere as it really is. No harsh flash making everyone flinch.
Speeches and Awards
The moment someone receives an award happens exactly once. No do-overs. Every shot has to land — fast shutter, pre-positioned, ready.
Dance Floor
This is where I use intentional motion blur. The result: energy, movement, fun. Nobody looks bad on the dance floor when the photographer knows what they're doing.
Summer Party? Same Expertise, Different Light.

Everything I said about corporate parties applies to summer events too. Outdoor events, garden parties, company picnics — natural light is my favourite light.
Three tips:

Company Anniversary: 10, 25, 50 Years
Anniversaries are different from Christmas parties. They're about the company's story. The founders. The people who've been there for 20 years.
What I always capture at anniversaries:

How to Make the Photos Great: What You Can Do
Send me the schedule. The more detail, the better. I'll know when the CEO speaks, when the awards come, and when the lights go down.Tell me who matters. Board members, guests of honour, award recipients — I'll make sure they're in the best shots.Share the dress code. Not so I know what to wear — so I can match the visual style.Describe the venue. Dark stage? Candlelight? Outdoor with torches? Lights fully dimmed for a performance? That changes my entire setup. My Advice
Book now. Not next month. Now. The best December dates are the first to go.
