What Happens to Your Conference When Nobody Takes Photos?
I'll tell you: nothing. No LinkedIn post, no recap for the sponsors, no "look, that was us" for the attendees. The talks are given, hands are shaken, the catering is eaten — and there's nothing visual left.
That's exactly why companies like Thales, TU Wien and AIM Group hire a conference photographer. Not for pretty pictures, but for images that work afterwards: on the website, in press releases, in newsletters, on social media.
I'm Alexandru, and as a conference photographer in Vienna I've been covering trade fairs, congresses and corporate events for over 12 years. Here's what a day with me looks like.

What Events Do I Photograph?
In short: anything where people gather in a room to make something happen professionally.
Every event has its own rhythm. At a trade fair, I move quickly between booths and changing light. During a keynote, I wait for the moment the speaker says something that moves the room. At networking events, I step back and capture what happens organically — no staged group photos.
Why a Conference Photographer, Not Just Any Event Photographer?
Good question. The difference is understanding.
A conference photographer knows your logo needs to be in the frame. That the speaker shouldn't be thrown off by a flash. That networking photos need to look real, not like a team-building poster.
In practice, that means:

How a Day With Me Works
Before: We have a 15-20 minute call. You tell me what's planned — programme, venues, what matters most to you. I turn that into a shot list. No charge. On the day: I arrive before the first guests. Room check, light check, quick briefing with your tech team or moderator. Then I practically disappear — I'm there, but I don't disrupt. Attendees should experience your conference, not pose for photos. After: That same evening, you receive 10-20 fully edited highlights. The complete gallery follows in 5-7 working days, sorted and in all formats: web, print, social media. What Does a Conference Photographer in Vienna Cost?

Frequently Asked Questions
Do attendees even notice you're there? Usually not. I use a silent shutter, skip the flash, and move quietly. After events I often hear: "I didn't even realise there was a photographer."What if talks run in multiple rooms at the same time? Then I recommend a second photographer. I coordinate the team so the visual style stays consistent. Can I use the photos for press releases? Of course. All images come with commercial usage rights — for anything you need them for professionally.Next Conference in Vienna?
